Holiday and Break Information |
|
A school calendar has been provided for your reference when planning holidays and five day breaks. Breaks and holidays occur approximately every five weeks, a common arrangement in boarding schools. It is important that students' departures from and returns to the school occur within the specified time-lines provided. Students are not permitted to leave earlier or arrive later than the specified dates without requesting written permission from the Assistant Head, Dean of Academics. Students who have unauthorized absences from their classes will be placed in academic detention upon their return to school. Students are not to depart from school prior to 1.00 p.m. on the first day of break and must return no later than 7.00 pm (unless coming in on late flights) or on the late bus from Ottawa or Montreal. The school building closes during holidays and all students are required to leave the school campus. Boarders who are unable to travel home because of distance are encouraged to visit family friends and relatives or stay with other students. If this is not possible, the school will help the student make other arrangements, which include home-stays organized by commercial companies. Please note that charges for home-stay services apply and are usually between $50.00 and $75.00 per day.
