Headmaster's Message

Now that we are well into 2010, the staff and students here at Sedbergh have been enjoying and truly embracing everything that the winter in Montebello has to offer. During Valentine’s Day weekend, Sedbergh was thrilled to have the annual Canadian Ski Marathon (CSM) not only come right through our beautiful campus, but for the first time the final checkpoint was here on site. As a CSM participant myself, I am always inspired and amazed by the perseverance and drive of our students and staff during this gruelling physical challenge.

The 2010 CSM saw all students participating in the annual event with the average student completing 63km. In addition, 5 students and 5 staff members completed the full 160km of cross country skiing over the course of two days. That is the equivalent of skiing from Downtown Ottawa, all the way to Mont Tremblant. All participants should be very proud of the their accomplishments as this is a remarkable feat, considering many of our new students had never cross country skied prior to joining us at Sedbergh.

At Sedbergh, we pride ourselves on giving our students a high quality university preparatory education, while also giving them the opportunity to develop essential life skills. The CSM is just one of many opportunities where are students are personally challenged, allowing them develop these extremely important skills and grow as individuals.

Since 1939, Sedbergh has been providing students with the Education of a Lifetime, by preparing them for their chosen post-secondary pursuits, with our rigorous academic program, and challenging, yet exciting outdoor and sports program. In the end, our graduates are prepared for university and for life’s challenges and success.
