Annual Giving

Every year we ask the greater Sedbergh community to participate in Annual Giving. Spent during the current school year, all students, including your own children, are guaranteed to benefit. Tuition fees are applied to the day to day operations of the school, (staff salaries, food, heat, electricity etc). Your gift to Annual Giving however, demonstrates selfless leadership and provides the essential added value for an excellent programme.

Past donations during Annual Giving have provided a wide range of benefits including books and resources for the library, new computers and technology for the classrooms, soccer jerseys, and games and furniture for the dorm common rooms. This year, all monies raised will be put toward equipping and furnishing the new Student Activities Centre as well as creating faster and more reliable wireless computer access by upgrading band width.

A donation to Annual Giving is win-win for everybody, particularly students and faculty. Every gift counts. Thank you for your support and participation as we prepare our students for their local and global responsibilities

Will my gift make a difference?
Absolutely! Each gift makes a difference to the school and its students. It also sends the important message that you believe in and support Sedbergh and its programs. Participation is key!

Why doesn't tuition cover all the costs?
Tuition covers all the basics but support through Annual Giving is a vital part of the financial equation in every school. It allows for such things as program enhancements, technology upgrades, athletic equipment, faculty professional development, and games and furniture increasing the enjoyment and participation of residential life.

Can I designate my gift?
Yes. Frequently selected designations are listed as choices on the Online Giving form, or you can make your choice known by writing to or e-mailing the Development Office. The school uses the unrestricted donations to cover Sedbergh's current prime needs.
