Academics

Sedbergh School is a co-educational secondary school offering grades 7 through 12 located in Canada. We are a non-funded school which allows students to study in English in Québec. Our academic program follows the Québec schooling system. Students earn the Québec Secondary School Diploma and can attend a Québec university after grade 12. Sedbergh students are accepted in their first choice university across Canada, the United States and overseas. We have a 100% placement rate.

Middle School - Grade 7, 8 and 9
The Middle School program is designed to help students successfully navigate the years of immense personal change and progress from elementary school to high school.  Students in grades 7 through 9 have one core teacher who provides clear and consistent expectations. Small class sizes allow teachers to be creative and spontaneous, often incorporating the outdoors in many of their class activities.

Senior School - Grade 10, 11 and 12

The Senior School builds on the academic foundation laid in the middle school. Workload increases and students must learn to manage their time, prioritize tasks, and practice self-discipline in order to cope with the increasing responsibility that comes in these grades. Students in the Senior School are looked upon as leaders in the community, and although they are the real movers and shakers of residential life at Sedbergh School, they must always remain responsible for their academic work.

Sedberghs unique environment helps students to focus and to be successful. The small 4 to 1 student-staff ratio means students can get the help and attention they need to succeed. Our teachers challenge every student to develop his or her strengths, to improve areas of weakness, and to meet and exceed their potential.

We help young people learn responsibility, respect for nature, hard work, and independence.

If you are interested in attending Sedbergh School, please contact the Admissions department. Students are accepted at all grade levels.
